Join Klara and Ingibjörg for a 150 hr training in Therapeutical Yogic practices. These are practices that have been making humans healthier, calmer and more balanced for generations and are now more important and potent than ever before.
Klara and Ingibjörg have carefully crafted a program where you can learn how to use Yoga as a therapy and to learn "Why" these practices are so beneficial. Why is Yoga so healing and how can you apply the powerful tools in life and the way you teach Yoga?
Your expanded and advanced knowledge of Yoga will be heavily focused on the nervous system and going over the following questions:
- How can Yoga restore safety and connection and help practitioners live more balanced life?
- How can Yoga facilitate healing trauma?
- What are the ways to change the chemistry in the body?
- Why is the use of restorative Yoga and fascial release so important?
- And finally: how can I use all this knowledge in life and in Yoga classes as a teacher?
Your learning experience will be rich in the use of powerful practices of the ancient science of Yoga and knowledge of the more modern science behind them. The value of a trauma informed Yoga teacher is absolutely priceless and so necessary in these times and this training will provide a plethora of wisdom and tools under your belt as a teacher.

The Therapeutic Yoga teacher training will take place from October 2025 to March 2026. The group will meet in person one weekend each month at Yoga Shala Reykjavík. In addition to the monthly meet ups there will be closed therapeutic yoga classes on Mondays during the run of the course. You can choose to attend the Monday classes in person or online, either by joining a live stream or by practicing to a recording at your own convenient time. These additional classes are to ensure regular and consistent personal practice between longer stretches of learning.
The teacher training will cover several styles of yoga and throughout the teacher training you will receive a text books written by Klara and Ingibjörg specifically to each style or method. You will have access to online platform where additional material and resources will be uploaded throughout the course. Furthermore you will have an option to join a closed Facebook group created for communication with your peers.

This module is part of the extended teacher training at Yoga Shala. The extended training will be over 300hr and you can choose to do all modules or select the ones you like the most.

This 150hr Therapeutic yoga teacher training is part of the 300hr extended teacher training offered at Yoga Shala. It is a requirement to have completed a 200hr basic yoga teacher training to enrol.

Klara has been teaching different styles of Yoga since 2014. Klara's professional studies in body, mind and spirit started in 2007 and she has never stopped studying. She has education in body work, Yoga, emotional anatomy or her most recent studies include coaching based in neuroscience and Tantra. All of her previous studies come naturally through while she teaches and shares her passion.
Ingibjörg started her yoga journey in 1995 and has dedicated her life to yoga since then. She studies abroad and moved her passion back with her to Iceland when she opened Yoga Shala Reykjavík in 2005. She has yogic education yoga therapy, yin facial yoga, compassionate inquiry training with Dr.Gabor Mate, health coaching, feminine power facilitation and several other styles of yoga and has lead regular teacher trainings at Yoga Shala Reykjavík.
