From Stress to Clarity: A Yogic Path for Life's Turning Points!
The Urgency of Stillness
We live in a time of acceleration — faster technologies, shifting identities, global instability, and cultural narratives that glorify youth. In the midst of this, the middle of life often arrives with its own turbulence: career pressures, family responsibilities, health changes, and a quiet but pressing question of meaning.
In yoga’s understanding, this stage is not a crisis but a sandhya — a threshold between cycles. It is a call to pause, to gather strength, and to choose with greater clarity how we wish to move forward. Without that pause, the weight of responsibilities and constant stimulation can lead to stress, fragmentation, and burnout.
This immersion offers both perspective and practice. Drawing on Yoga and Ayurveda, it provides practical tools to restore balance, strengthen resilience, and open new pathways for living with greater steadiness and purpose.
What You Will Explore
Yoga is more than posture — it is a science of human wholeness. Rooted in millennia of inner research, its tools remain strikingly relevant for today's challenges: mental overload, loss of inner compass, and the search for meaning.
Guided by Stéphane's profound understanding of energetics, subtle anatomy, and authentic traditions, you will:
- Decode the Dynamics of Stress: Explore stress through an Ayurvedic lens — physical (śarīrika), mental (mānasika), and existential (adhyātmika) — and learn how imbalance unfolds across the koshas (layers of being).
- Rediscover Purpose: Understand the transition from the stage of active engagement (grhastha) to one of inner alignment and contribution (vanaprastha).
- Practice with Precision: Integrate tools from yoga — pranayama, mantra, bandha, bhavana, visualisation, drishti — applied in their authentic context for transformation, not performance.
- Rebuild Resilience: Learn practical ways to sustain vitality and clarity, from daily habits (dinacharya) to mental attitudes and spiritual anchoring.
This is not a theoretical lecture. It is an immersion where
philosophy, subtle anatomy, breathwork, and meditative practices converge to provide a roadmap for life's demanding transitions.

About Stéphane
Stéphane Chollet’s life has been a quest — a tireless exploration of traditions, practices, and philosophies to uncover how ancient wisdom can help us live meaningfully in a rapidly changing world. His journey began in the 1980s with Chinese martial and internal arts, later expanding into Yoga under Jean Villetelle, a student of Gérard Blitz from the Krishnamacharya lineage. A decisive meeting with Michel Coquet, a pioneer in both Japanese martial traditions and spiritual literature, introduced Stéphane to the depth of Indian philosophy.
Over the following decades, Stéphane travelled extensively through India, studying at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore, the Bihar School of Yoga, and the Shivananda Ashram, while also meeting luminaries such as B.K.S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, and Swami Niranjanananda. Seeking immersion in the spiritual dimension of yoga, he spent years learning from Himalayan sages, experiencing meditation and pranic control practices in remote caves, including legendary techniques for withstanding extreme cold through breathwork.
His extensive research and practice culminated in the creation of Surya Raja Yoga (Suryashtanga) — a holistic and progressive approach synthesising asana, pranayama, mantra, and meditative tools, designed to serve both beginners and advanced practitioners. Today, Stéphane continues to travel, teach, and refine this approach, sharing clear, practical methods rooted in authentic traditions to help individuals meet the existential and psychological challenges of modern life with resilience, clarity, and joy. He is the founder of Surya World, an international network of open-minded, enquiring, approachable people united by the need to contribute to a better world.
