100 HR Hatha kennaranám

300 HOURS EXTENDED TEACHER TRAINING

MODULE ONE: 100 HOURS OF HATHA YOGA WITH KLARA

The objective of this course is to honour the traditions and pass on the absolute gems of Hatha Yoga that are rarely taught these days, even though they are very powerful tools for balancing the mind, the body and even life itself. Hatha Yoga uses a methodology that has been working for many generations and you will be learning from a tradition that has set the base for newer styles of yoga.

You will learn the techniques that purify the body from inside out and you will learn a very unique and powerful asana sequence. Since Hatha Yoga was originally practiced to control and raise the levels of energy, your scope of practice and teachings will include the knowledge of the subtle body. The subtle body includes the emotional body; the pranic body and the breath; energy; as well as the physical body.

The depth of this training will give you a solid understanding of the teachings, your knowledge will not come only from theory and reading books but from your embodied understanding of this ancient tradition which has been working wonders for many, many years. It is still here today because it is so beneficial for our body and mind.

Modern researches show us that our body stores tension, stress and trauma, this is not a secret anymore and all Yoga teachers are aware of it. Hatha Yoga training uses a methodology that has been dealing with these factors and helping humans over the generations. This is a methodology that is complex and thorough and will be a very valuable add on to your general Teacher training.

What will you learn?

  • Yogic purification techniques
  • Bandhas or energy locks
  • Asana sequence (a set of poses in a certain order, with detailed information about each pose - cues, modifications, benefits and contraindications)
  • physical adjustments

  • Pranayama (breathing techniques that are simple yet powerful)
  • Energy body and chakras - theory in depth and practical understanding
  • Nervous system - how to weave the modern neuroscience studies with traditional Yoga

  • Importance of embodiment in modern world
  • Refresher of some topics from Yogic philosophy
  • Chanting
  • Meditation and visualisation

Klara believes what makes a teacher a Good teacher is their own embodied understanding of the teachings. If it was only for the knowledge learned from books or the amount of teacher trainings the teacher did that mattered, we could all be just practicing on YouTube or reading yoga books. We come to practice Yoga for the transmission, the embodied experience the teacher is passing on to us. That is why this teacher training is heavily based on the practice. You will go through a transformational experience yourself so you can then pass the teachings on to others. This idea applies both to those interested in teaching Hatha Yoga themselves, and those interested in deepening their own personal development without any desire of teaching. Either way the tools learned in the training will stay with you. Making your life more balanced.

This 100hr Hatha teacher training is part of the 300hr extended teacher training offered at Yoga Shala. It is a requirement to have completed a 200hr basic teacher training to enrol.

To register for the 100hr Hatha teacher training send an email to Klara@yogashala.is where you share your previous yoga education i.e. where and when you finished your 200 hr training, as well as whether you have been teaching since then.

Klara has been teaching different styles of Yoga since 2014, but there is one style through which she sees incredible changes in people's quality of life. That is the traditional Hatha Yoga.

Therefore her love and respect for this tradition doesn't come only through the experience of her own practice but through witnessing many people's stories over the years. She sees Hatha Yoga as the perfect method that comes with many tools which we embody in our daily lives.

When it comes to teaching Hatha Yoga, Klara used to teach future teachers in Hatha Yoga in India. In Iceland she has been teaching open classes, Hatha Yoga immersions; and recently running extensive courses in Hatha Yoga. It is her dream to see more qualified Yoga teachers with the knowledge she has gained from her teachers, and so they in turn can pass on the tradition.

Klara's professional studies in body, mind and spirit started in 2007 and she has never stopped studying. She has education in body work, Yoga, emotional anatomy or her most recent studies include coaching based in neuroscience and Tantra.

All of her previous studies come naturally through while she teaches and shares her passion.
